Self-care is a BIG topic these days. To many women self-care is bubble baths, manis & pedis, and hair wash day. But it's so much more than that.
To me, self-care goes deep into the heart and mind. It's taking the time out to know yourself, identify your intentions, and master who you truly are at the core. So much love goes into self-care and love is the greatest emotion you can feel.
IT STARTS WITH RECOGNIZING HOW YOU FEEL
How do I feel at this moment?
Is there something I need that I'm not getting or giving to myself?
How do I want to feel?
What can I do right now to experience that feeling?
Close your eyes and imagine yourself feeling how you want to feel. Imagine yourself doing something or receiving something that captures that feeling. It should make you smile; maybe even shed a tear. It should transform how you feel in that moment. Happy? Grateful? Get connected with the emotion and hold on to it for a minute-or-so. Say to yourself: thank you for loving me, thank you for loving me, thank you so much for loving me. I am love.
Write down the answers to these questions on a sheet of paper or in your journal. Then take some time today or this week to do something deliberate that can invoke this feeling more. You deserve it!
